Below is the original communication sent to members about the closing of our Round Valley membership branch. To clarify, our Children's Learning Center (CLC) remains in that location and has expanded to the entire space.

Thank you for being a member of YMCA of Bucks and Hunterdon Counties. We are so glad to have you as part of our family and want to share some news with you about an important change coming to our Round Valley Membership Branch.
Over the past couple of years, availability of high-quality, affordable child care has become a pressing need in our community. We heard this echoed in the community needs assessment we conducted in 2022 and see it demonstrated by the wait list of families seeking care at our Child Learning Center. Through much research and evaluation of how we are serving our community, we also learned that due to the close proximity of our Round Valley and Deer Path branches, we have a significant overlap of members using both facilities and very low usage at our Round Valley Membership Branch.
After careful consideration about how we can best utilize our facilities to have the greatest impact on the needs of our community, we have decided to close the Round Valley Membership Branch on March 31, 2023 and expand the Child Learning Center. Low member use of the fitness center, coupled with helping families in our community by meeting a critical need for child care, supports this decision. On April 1, 2023, we will begin efforts to convert the fitness center space to dedicated child care space.
Your Y membership includes use of all of our branches across Bucks and Hunterdon counties, including the Deer Path Branch in Flemington. We welcome you to continue your health and wellness journey at this full facility Y. We are making membership enhancements at the Deer Path Branch including:
- More group exercise classes. In April, we are increasing the number of group exercise classes by nine classes per week including several of your favorite Round Valley classes and instructors.
- More Stay & Play hours. In February, we increased our Stay & Play hours by 11 hours per week. This free-to-member service is now open for a total of 30 hours, Monday-Saturday.
- New Wellness Center equipment. We have new cardio and free weight equipment coming soon!
These are in addition to the great amenities and member benefits the Deer Path Branch currently offers which include an indoor heated pool, whirlpool, saunas, gymnasium with basketball and pickleball, and a full schedule of programs for children and adults.
If you are not familiar with the Deer Path Branch, we welcome you to come in at any time. A member engagement representative would be happy to show you around and answer any questions you may have about the facility and programs offered. To learn more about the Deer Path Branch, click here. Many of the staff from our Round Valley Membership Branch will be scheduled at the Deer Path Branch so there will be familiar faces to greet you!
Your current membership will continue without interruption and you are welcome to begin enjoying all the Deer Path Branch has to offer at any time. If you would like to change your membership status please complete this form by March 20, 2023.
